Airways Aviation signed at APATS today the purchase agreement for a state-of-the-art MPS Centaur FTD-1 B737-NG simulator for airline pilot training. The Centaur FTD-1 B737-NG is built by Multi Pilot Simulations (MPS) in The Netherlands and is the latest in advanced simulator technology for multi-crew, jet orientation and B737 type rating training. The simulator will be located at the new Airways Aviation Flight Training Centre in Brisbane, Australia.

Airways Aviation has more than 30 years of world-class flight training experience with Pilot Training Academies and Aviation Foundation Schools in key locations across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, offering a full suite of pilot training courses together with aviation services to meet the increasing global demand for commercial pilots.

The addition of the FTD-1 B737 simulator further expands and refines the training opportunities Airways Aviation is able to provide in Australia, to both the domestic and international market. Operations of the FTD-1 simulator will commence in early 2016.

Stewart Ford, Airways Aviation Australia National Operations Manager said of the purchase, ‘The new MPS Centaur FTD-1 B737 will enable us to offer a full range of advanced flight and type rating training packages, tailored to airline demand, thus enhancing the quality and cost effectiveness of our programs’.
