Delivered in the UK and Spain, the Airways Aviation Integrated course is designed to take you from no aviation experience (ab initio) to qualified commercial pilot with a ‘frozen’ Airline Transport Pilot Licence. Qualification Criteria

In order to qualify for an Airways Aviation Pilot Training Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be 18 years old (before course commencement)
  • Hold a minimum of 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent); successful completion of English, maths and science are desirable.
  • Be fluent in English. Non-British students should have a UKVI Academic IELTS overall grade of 5.5 with a no less than 5 in individual stages.
  • Be a minimum height of 5’2 (157 cm), maximum height of 6’5” (196 cm).
  • Hold a UK EASA Class 1 medical without restrictions (before course commencement).

Winning Criteria

The most crucial part of the application process is passing the COMPASS* test with a high score.

The Next Steps

STEP 1: Airways Aviation team will contact you to book the assessment day and time.

STEP 2: Attend our COMPASS* test centres at the nominated day and time and perform the COMPASS test.

STEP 3: Airways Aviation team will identify the shortlisted candidates and invite them for a panel interview.

STEP 4: Attend our panel interview in Oxford, United Kingdom.

STEP 5: Airways Aviation team will assess the candidates and award the Scholarships.

Q1. How many scholarships are offered?
A- There are three (3) scholarships offered.

Q2. What is the value of each scholarship?
A- The value of the three (3) scholarships is £15,000; £10,000; £5,000 respectively.

Q3. What are the course start dates?
A- We have 5 intakes throughout the scholarship period, choose the one which best suits you. 13th January 2020, 6th April 2020, 29th June 2020, 21st of September 2020 and 4th January 2021.

Q4. How long is the scholarship valid for?
A- The scholarship is valid until January 2021.

Q5. What is the deadline for scholarship applications?
A- The last day for scholarship applications is mid March 2020.

Q6. Is the scholarship programme open to all nationalities?
A- Yes, the scholarship programme is open to all nationalities.

Q7. I am under 18 years old, Can I apply?
A- Yes, you can apply if you are under 18 years old, but you are required to be 18 years old before the commencement of the course on your chosen intake date.

Q8. Do I need to have a UK EASA Class 1 medical before I apply?
A- It is preferable to have a UK EASA Class 1 medical before you apply. However, if you don’t, you need to obtain one before the commencement of your course.

Q9. I meet all the requirements; how do I prove it?
A- When the Airways Aviation team contacts you to schedule your assessment, they will ask for your documents to be sent by email.

Q10. When will my assessment take place?
A- Airways Aviation team will contact you to book a convenient date and time for you. Your assessment will take place before Mid March 2020. Any assessments after that date will not be considered for the scholarship.

Q11. I have paid for my assessment. How will I prepare myself?
A- When the Airways Aviation team contacts you to schedule your assessment, they will provide you with relevant material.

Q12. What if there is not a Compass Test centre approved by Airways Aviation in my country?
A- You will have to fly to the nearest centre at your own expense.

Q13. Can I apply without paying for the Compass Test?
A- No, in order to register for the scholarship programme you have to make the payment of the assessment fee (£100).

Q14. I had an assessment with Airways Aviation in the past, Can I still apply for the scholarship programme?
A- Yes, If you had your assessment on or after the 10th of September 2019, you can apply for the scholarship – simply get in touch with the Airways Aviation team to declare your interest.

Q15. Can the course payment be made in instalments?
A- Yes, There are 4 instalments throughout your course. The scholarship amount will be deducted from your final instalment.

Q16. When will the winners of the scholarship programme be announced?
A- The winners of the scholarship programme will be announced once the Covid-19 crisis has been cleared. As per the UK CAA & government requirements, AAA facility is temporarily closed and therefore would have to  postpone the results.

Three Airways Aviation European Pilot Training Scholarships will be available towards the EASA fATPL Integrated course only. It cannot be availed in conjunction to any other scholarship programme or be transferred to another person.
The shortlisted candidates will attend a panel interview in Oxford at their own cost.
The Scholarship is worth up to £15,000 which will be deducted from the final instalment made by the recipient. The recipient of each Scholarship must also pay the balance of their total training fees. The terms & conditions of the EASA fATPL Integrated course will apply.

*Compass is a well-known European Pilot Skill Test which consists of Control, Slalom, Mathematics, Memory, Task Manager, Orientation, Aviation English & Verbal Reasoning Tests. The tests will be followed by an interview.
