Passing the Certificate III in Aviation enables the student to pursue an entry point career path in ground operations and service at airports, charter companies and tourism operations.

The course involves the study of 21 units of competency covering a broad range of fields. These include communication and calculations, safety, teamwork, customer service, quality, security, management and leadership, tourism sales and operations, technology, equipment and systems. Units are logically clustered together offering students a course structure in which knowledge and skills can be consolidated. Students participate in a range of ‘face-to-face’ theory and practical sessions conducted on site at an Airways Aviation Academy.

Entry Requirements

Domestic students (full-time):

  • minimum 17 years of age; and
  • completed year 11 or industry experience

Domestic students (part-time):

  • year 11 students who are minimum 16 years of age on an approved schools program; or
  • minimum 17 years of age; and
  • completed year 11 or industry experience

International students:

  • minimum 17 years of age; and
  • qualification equivalent to an Australian year 11; and
  • English language comparable to Academic IELTS of 5.5
